🌟Kombucha Power🌟.. How I love the refreshing fizz of good probiotic rich kombucha😋😍...Even lovelier is the community sharing of living in Plettenberg Bay and receiving our scoby culture from our neighbour, fermenting queen Hildegonda💕🤗🌺 Here is how to make your own Kombucha:
You will need a glass jar preferably with a top lid and dispenser tap.
Recipe:
For every litre:
1/4 cup organic brown sugar (Scoby eats the sugar)
1 teabag (can be ceylon, rooibos or green tea)
1 litre water
Method:
Boil the tea and the sugar in the water. Let it cool to room temperature. Add tea mixture with scoby into fermenting jar. Cover with a cloth and an elastic band. Takes 4-7 days to ferment according to taste.... Can take up to 2 weeks in cooler climates.. Drink or decant into storing bottles before it turns to vinegar. Keep a 10th of the liquid as a starter for the next batch. Can secondary ferment in a closed jar. Ideas: juiced fruit shot such as apple/ginger or lemon/mint. Boil a new batch and start over again. If it over ferments to vinegar, use as such.
